The Ultimate Guide To Growing Your Blog With Pinterest

Yes, Pinterest is the Holy Grail of blog traffic. In fact, about 98% of traffic to my blog comes from Pinterest!

Pinterest can be overwhelming, to say the least. There are several steps to set up your Pinterest account. Then, you have to figure out how spread the word! I am giving you a quick and easy list of the first steps you should take to help your Pinterest account explode!

  1. Create A Pinterest Business Account

Yes, It’s free! Don’t worry! You now own your own website. You are a published blogger. I recommend starting a new account just for your blog!

2. Enable Rich Pins

Rich Pins are important because they provide more context about an idea because they show extra information directly on the Pin.

3.  Create Pinnable images using Canva.

Canva is going to be your best friend for creating pinnable images. In order for people to want to click on your image, it must be a nice looking image with text overlay. Remember to make at least 2-3 images per blog post!

4. Pin More

A good rule of thumb is the 80/20 rule. Pin 80% of others content and 20% of your own. Pin as much as you can every day. I suggest starting out that you create at least 10 boards.

5. Join Group Boards in your niche.

Group boards are the perfect way to get more exposure for your content but also finding relevant pins in your niche. Most group boards have rules for joining so just take a look at them and join as many as you can! Remember to only pin vertical pretty pins and don’t forget to re-pin from the board.

5. Join Boardbooster

Boardbooster is one of the best automation tools for Pinterest. This allows you to schedule your pins to be pinned on your group boards without you doing any of the hard work. And for $5 a month, it’s a deal that can’t be beaten. Here is my referral link to Boardbooster if you want to check it out!

6. Join Tailwind

Tailwind is a tool that does more than just automate. You can schedule pins from all of your group boards and add your own pins to be pinned by others! You get to start with a free trial which is an added bonus. If you choose one automation tool to work with I highly recommend tailwind. Don’t forget to join tribes in your niche!
